We have heard so much benefits and cost reductions made possible through the use of home solar panels. It is indeed very enticing to start using them. Not only are you getting enough buzz about it, many ecological movements have been pushing for the use of these panels. But the real question stands. How much really do home solar panels cost?

Indeed it would be a bit tricky to answer that. If you say that you have a 3500 square foot house and you ask store personnel how much would installing these panels for your whole house cost, it would be possible that he would answer you with something in between the lines of, “how much do you want to put in it?”
Variables of Cost

To completely evaluate your expense for home solar panels cost, you would first evaluate where your geography is. Normally is you live somewhere where there is a lot of sun, such as California, it is without a doubt that your panels would be able to absorb maximum amount of energy if ideally located and positioned. If on the other hand, you live somewhere like the Alaska where sunlight is quite limited, then your panels would have difficulty in absorbing enough power to convert; thus more panels would be needed.

Another major consideration of yours should be how much electricity you actually use. Home solar panels costs are usually computed by the watt. A simple computation would be something like this:

1) Take the total KWH in your bill and divide by 30 (ex. 900 KWH / 30 = 30 KWH per day)
2) Divide that number by the number of hours you get per day. (30 KWH per day / 5 hours = 6kw or 6000 watts)
3) Multiply the number by 1.15 in order to get the watts in solar power needed (6000 x 1.15= 6900 watts of solar power needed
4) If you opt to have it installed, which is around 10 dollars per watt, your total home solar panels cost is $69,000. This would be inclusive of installation materials, but are not inclusive of other things such as electric meters.

Evaluation of cost

Given that the total home solar panels cost is not a measly amount to pay, is it then worth using? The truth is, yes it is. Not only are you doing your planet a favor, but you are also helping yourself cut down long term cost. You just have to be a bit more cost adverse and you have to learn how to conserve energy.

A good tip to cut down the cost of installing these home solar panels is to first start with some areas of your home, and then slowly move onwards as you complete it. This way, the cost won’t be that heavy, and that you would learn how to properly use it slowly. So go ahead, take some home solar panels and install them in your homes today! GP
