While most people are still troubled on how to keep up with this dilemma, others have already found the solution by using solar energy to light up their homes.

Solar power systems are used to generate energy for a person’s home. It can be a basic or high end model. This can be set up to provide electricity, heat water or both. It is made up of four primary components which are the solar panels, a charging controller, a battery and an inverter.

The power system works likes photosynthesis. When the sun’s light hits the surface of the solar panel, the electrons are absorbed by the panel and converted to direct current (DC) electricity. This DC passes through a charging controller which regulates the amount electricity that goes into the system. The DC then goes to the battery for storage.

Whenever electricity is needed inside the house, the DC goes through an inverter that converts it to an alternating current or AC making it suitable for use. The electric inverter is the most important in the power system because it converts solar energy to power electrical appliances by inverting the current.

Before installing a solar power system for your home, you need to calculate the amount of electricity you need to run your home so you can determine how many solar panels you will need. Take into consideration that you need extra electricity to be stored in the batteries that you can use during the night and on cloudy days.

It is very important to consult a professional when installing a power system for your home. Since the system deals with electricity, you have to be careful with it because it may cause electrical problems and wiring complications. The panels should also be strategically located so that it can receive sufficient sunlight during the day. GP
